With 94 stores located throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Xtra-vision employs up to 820 full-time and part-time employees across the Island of Ireland.

Xtra-vision is owned by Hilco Capital which also owns its sister company HMV. 

The company has transitioned itself from primarily a movie rental company to one of a broad-based provider of Movies and Games for both retail and rental, and the full spectrum of Home Entertainment products. The company has expanded its retail portfolio to include large retail units that reflect the growing Xtra-vision product range and offerings, and locations that match population trend dynamics. This significant expansion is continuing and has enabled the provision of a one stop shop for Home Entertainment. While the company majors in the Home Entertainment sector, its product offerings have broadened further, in-tune with customer demand.
